Robert Half Accounting Coordinator in Long Beach, California

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the bustling city of Long Beach, California. This role is a part of the financial industry where you will be responsible for general accounting tasks, maintaining customer credit records, and handling various accounting duties. This is a contract employment opportunity that will allow you to utilize your skills in accounting and customer service in a dynamic and fast-paced work setting.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage customer credit applications in an accurate and efficient manner

• Maintain precise records of customer credit, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accurate

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Verify documentation and post journal entries as part of general accounting activities

• Assist in the reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts

• Manage and reconcile petty cash and cash advance accounts

• Serve as the point of contact for the HRIS/Dayforce system, assisting employees and performing system maintenance

• Record invoices into the accounting system and follow up with staff

• Assist with vendor and employee concerns, interfacing with all levels of branch staff

• Support accounts payable by inputting, processing, and researching payables in the system and maintaining files for audit trails.

• Dayforce Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation is essential for this role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for data management and analysis.

• Familiarity with Dayforce software is desirable for efficient task management.

• The ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is essential.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for collaborating with other departments.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

• Prior experience in a similar role is desirable.

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation is an asset.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required for this role.

• Proficiency in other accounting software will be a plus.

• The ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial due to the sensitive nature of the information handled in this role.
