Assistant Color Designer, Footwear - YEEZY

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The work created will function toassist in shaping KW Creative Vision into product expression in partnership with adidas/Yeezy product creation team for Yeezy FTW. Assist team in creating industry leading advanced Color design solutions that provide future design direction to the look/ feel of Yeezy FTW. Focus on being the expert specialist in Color innovations, opposed to leading a team of direct reports, will be supporting the projects/ color creation process.Maintain and nurture the COLOR design direction with the COLLECTION Design team, Development, Marketing and the consumer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the creative vision in a product range for the category.

  • Develop creative solutions to individual products.

  • Work with the creative process and execute towards given targets and defined design languages and strategies.

  • Execute design work according to the visual language of adidas/YEEZY as well as given Corporate Identity guidelines according to legal guidance.

  • Verbally present product ideas and details with clarity in small groups and team meetings

  • Support an efficient process and communication flow between design, marketing and development for all issues regarding the ranges and products

  • Engage with Creative Teams across the adidas organization to facilitate in innovative and complex technologies, methods, and tools to support projects

  • Visualize ideas for KW creative vision with clarity.

  • Creates Color CADs and Material Maps & Graphic Maps, and Assists in communicating inspiration and storytelling content

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of consumer product designs

  • Ability work through complex and ambiguous projects while maintaining positivity, productivity and speed

  • Problem solving attitude & can-do personality. Proven ability to find avenues to success in the face of challenges

  • Ability to understand design concepts and think conceptually

  • Ability to create designs that meet category needs and commercial opportunities

  • Ability to design for new initiatives and products with a fresh, innovative perspective

  • Works well in a team environment. This position requires employee to engage with many stakeholders, as well as manage various information and relationships

  • A strong working knowledge of footwear color, construction and production

  • Advanced in sketching and drawing methods, in Adobe Suite

  • Computer Skills

  • understanding of the product creation process

  • Strong visual skills with the ability to create impactful/exciting visuals

  • Good communication skills,Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, designers, and other employees of the organization

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA or MA from a college or university, major Design

  • Thorough knowledge of art and design with clear understanding of visual design or any design related environment

  • Preferably a practical experience in a design environment
