Description
Robert Half is looking to staff a Payroll Manager with our well-respected client! This Payroll Manager will help achieve standards that are necessary for growth within the financial department and will be responsible for work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. This may be the role for you if you are a dynamic Payroll Manager with excellent communication, proven leadership, and are deadline driven.
Your responsibilities in this role
Handle payroll tax audits and collaborate with auditors
Respond to all questions related to payroll and resolve issues
Comply with internal policies and relevant laws
Help create systems that process payroll account transactions, like salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments
Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
Supervise system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)
Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
Oversee and train payroll assistants and clerks
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports

Requirements - Compliance knowledge
5+ years of payroll experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Capable of working in payroll applications
CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus
Seasoned in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
Sound understanding of current payroll procedures and related laws
Knowledge of multi-location payroll and taxes
