[The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) invites applications for the position of Plumber. A Plumber performs journey-level plumbing work in the installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of plumbing systems and related equipment at a college.

[Health Benefits: District-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for employee and dependents. A $50,000 life insurance policy is provided free of charge for each employee. A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) with $1,500 contributed by LACCD annually.

**[Paid Time Off[: 12 full-pay days and 88 half-pay days of illness leave per year, 19 paid holidays per year, and accrued vacation time from 10-24 days per year depending on the position. Other paid time off options are also available.

[- - - [TYPICAL DUTIES [Installs, replaces, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems, equipment, appliances, controls and fixtures such as dish and clothes washing machines, vacuum breakers, backflow devices, gas appliance safety controls, steam tables, plumbing fixtures, drains, sinks, sumps, circulatory pumps, water heaters, and showers including water, gas, and waste system installations.

[Installs, maintains, and repairs gas piping systems for space heating.

[Installs, maintains, and repairs lawn-sprinkler systems, including automatic, semi-automatic, and manually operated types.

[Installs, maintains, and repairs air and gas welding systems.

[Surveys gas safety devices and other plumbing equipment which may need repair or replacement.

[Maintains and repairs automatic fire-sprinkler systems.

[Reviews plans, blueprints, and specifications for plumbing projects to understand scope of projects, complete assigned work orders, and recommend potential changes to supervisor.

[Attends to trouble calls for emergency repairs to plumbing systems and equipment.

[Safely operates tools and equipment used in the plumbing trade.

[Maintains plumbing hand and power tools and equipment to ensure their safe and efficient operation.

[Maintains shop area and supplies in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

[May assist in estimating job costs, preparing material lists and job records, and maintaining an inventory of supplies and tools for assigned area/projects.
