The Finance Team includes Finance Business Partnership, Accounting, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We’re looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team, you will analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. You will collaborate with cross functional teams and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare revenue month-end journals and associated reconciliations by working with different areas of the business to ensure all transactions are accounted for in accordance with Company policies and US GAAP.

  • Participate in and drive revenue to cash process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and enhance revenue system capabilities.

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of Company operations and business results within assigned areas to prepare monthly analysis and variance explanations.

  • Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Execute and maintain high quality work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the Company’s financial statements.

  • Apply your knowledge of ASC 606 to non-standard transactions and new product offerings, documenting analysis and conclusions on the technical accounting impacts. Collaborate with the Technical Accounting team on complex issues.

  • Collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders to align on downstream impacts, controls, and reporting needs for accounting close for areas including but not limited to non-standard deals, content partner arrangements, third party sales, new entity roll-outs, and new product offerings

  • Implement controls and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX

  • Provide support for the annual US financial statement audit, periodic internal audits, and statutory audits

  • Provide support for other ad hoc analyses, user acceptance testing, and revenue related projects as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong Accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP, especially experience in Revenue Recognition

  • Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods

  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team

  • Excels at business partnering and working with cross functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way

  • Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, comfortable working with large data sets

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Exceptional organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience

  • 3+ years of experience as an accounting professional

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA License, or in progress

  • Big 4 firm experience

  • Fortune 500 and/or private company experience with a focus on Revenue Recognition

  • Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce, or Ironclad

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this position is $104,000-$156,000 annually.

Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $99,000-$148,000 annually.

Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $88,000-$133,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
