Shire Sr. Talent Acquisition Partner in Los Angeles, California

The Sr. TA Partner will be responsible for supporting the recruitment efforts for The Los Angeles /Van Nuys sites and other US Tech Ops sites as needed; working closely with TA Lead, hiring managers and HR partners to develop and implement recruiting strategies to support the business initiatives. The chosen individual will contribute to the overall success of the Talent Acquisition group by providing a high level of customer service and quality throughout the recruiting process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to source candidates, interview prospective employees, make hiring recommendations and prepare and negotiate salary offers, process relocations, if necessary

  • Provide creative sourcing strategies to hiring managers that will attract top talent and reduce time to fill a position.

  • Develop strong relationships with external vendors who support our hiring efforts.

  • Develop measurements to evaluate successful sourcing strategies and identify opportunities for improvements.

  • Work closely with staffing team to implement new programs and ensure all legal requirements are met.

  • Participate in local career/job fairs as needed.

  • Initiate proactive and just in time sourcing strategies, for high volume recruiting, to build the candidate pipeline for designated facilities.

  • Assist with ongoing efforts to enhance the team's recruiting best practices.

  • Help to champion Inclusion and Diversity; building education, sourcing practices and targeted goals in to our processes.

  • Ensure the site is actively pursuing a diverse slate of candidates and working to meet the hiring goals defined by the site AAP as well as any guidance set forth by the EEOC.

  • When applicable, understand the site strategy for Tech Ops and work closely with TA Lead to support increased hiring activity, identifying and executing local employment branding strategies, etc.

  • Serve as a project lead or team member for various Talent Acquisition projects as they develop through the year.

  • Identify talent gaps and trends within support areas and proactively build supply channels to fill those needs

  • Ensure ongoing integrity of data in ATS.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Strong customer orientation and ability to build relationships.

  • Experience recruiting in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Must be a demonstrated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and follow-up skills required.

  • Understanding of applicable state and federal employment law (OFCCP, FMLA, FLSA, etc).

  • 3-5 years recruiting experience in a large matrixed organization in a multi-functional role.

  • High volume recruiting experience

  • Ability to source, cold call, build relationships and network to generate successful placements and retention.

  • Demonstrated listening, facilitation and communications skills.

  • Understanding of staffing and sourcing technologies.

  • Strong business and functional acumen.

  • Ability to develop successful relationships with business partners and team members in a virtual capacity.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment.

  • Results driven, able to demonstrate/quantify success relative to established targets and metrics.

Education and/or experience

  • Typically requires a bachelors' degree, preferably in human resources, psychology, business or other related field. 5+ years of related experience with 1+ years in a supervisory/leadership role.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 10 lbs.

  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.

Working Environment

  • General office environment

  • Must be able to work overtime as required.

  • Inside working conditions.

  • 5% travel.
