Otak currently seeking a Stormwater Group Leader/Senior Engineer to join our
Water and Natural Resources (WNR) team! The ideal candidate will be a
highly effective manager and collaborator with an entrepreneurial mindset and
excited to contribute to building a practice. You will have the opportunity to
support WNR projects in Colorado, Washington, and Oregon for a variety of
clients (e.g., the Mile High Flood District, cities of Boulder,
Greeley, Fort Collins, and other Colorado municipalities). The
successful candidate will manage projects including basin planning, urban
stormwater retrofit, stormwater treatment/management, and green
infrastructure.
This position may be based out of our Louisville or Denver, CO office.
What you'll do:
Actively participate on our business unit leadership team as a Stormwater
Group Leader/Senior Engineer that has shared responsibility for leading our
Water and Natural Resources Business Unit in Colorado. You will facilitate
business development, training, project delivery process, and
operational needs with a focus on stormwater.
Manage a wide variety of stormwater-related planning and design projects
across Colorado, including resource planning and overseeing financials,
schedule, deliverables, and quality control.
Collaborate on a wide variety of stormwater-related planning and design
projects in Washington and Oregon.
Collaborate with our Transportation & Infrastructure group on
drainage-specific design elements of roadway and trail projects.
Provide technical excellence and thought leadership in the areas of stormwater
management, water quality, and green infrastructure.
Prepare technical approaches/scope, schedule, and budgets for proposals.
Supervise and mentor staff responsible for design calculations, modeling,
design drawings and specifications.
Direct and oversee the preparation of construction drawings,
specifications, and cost estimates.
Lead and mentor engineering teams, and supervise staff to foster a culture
of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or
Environmental Engineering required. Master's degree preferred.
At least 10 years of relevant experience including Project
Management/Project Engineering in stormwater or related field.
Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado.
Organizational management and leadership.
Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional, team
environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
