Duties and responsibilities

JFCS is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator, who will assist JFCS Navigate with identifying potential clients for business planning and microlending services through outreach and events efforts in Bowling Green. Primary focus will be to implement canvassing (field market) strategies to promote services, followed by assisting in the communication and coordination of the client service between client and the assigned business advisor.

Qualifications, Competencies and Characteristics

The Community Outreach Coordinator will support JFCS Navigate with outreach and business training initiatives focused on the International Community.

Enhance and support the work of the business advisor, by serving as liaison for communicating business planning assistance, loan packaging opportunity and mentoring support to the aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Outreach Coordinator will work in conjunction with the business advisor in managing relationships with the community leaders serving the targeted community.

Educate the specific community about JFCS Navigate business advising and microlending services.

Assist with event planning and coordination, neighborhoods/area canvassing, recruitment activities and group training sessions.

Interprets messages simultaneously or consecutively into specified language (Swahili or Spanish and English), maintaining message content, context and style as much as possible.

Assist with translations in the development of promotional marketing and training materials for client services.

Provide recommendations on best approaches to entice potential clients to capitalize on service offerings at JFCS.

Conduct field market surveys for client opportunities.

Collects data and information to focus on the specific international community (events, networking, training) that may be useful to JFCS Navigate, 

All other duties as assigned as part of contractual agreement.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

High school graduate or its equivalent

Fluent in Swahili or Spanish and English languages

Self-motivated with excellent social skills; go-getter.

Strong communication skills, oral and written

Comfortable in building relationships at various levels.

Must sign the JFCS Contract Agreement

Regular communication with assigned JFCS Navigate staff in Louisville, KY
