House of Blues FACILITIES ASSISTANT in Louisville, Kentucky

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

· Plan, organize, direct, and inspect the work of building maintenance crews and building equipment operators.

· Assist in policing house policies and safety regulations with service contractors, rental vendors and clients during events

· Implement and maintain catalog of maintenance records and reports for projects and work tasks performed.

· Maintain records and reports for but not limited to in house fire inspections, HVAC maintenance, custodial inventory, and repairs and maintenance inventory.

· Maintain all facility related operating systems to include:

ü Operational logs and records for all equipment and building inventory

ü Hearing Asst. devices

ü Radio equipment

ü HVAC management and maintenance

ü Auditorium seating maintenance

ü Tools and related equipment

ü Operational and building supplies inventory

ü Work order request management and fulfillment

ü Building opening and closing procedures

· Assist in overseeing the daily functions of all operations and maintenance related work including, but not limited to: daily cleaning services, set-up and break-down of events in lobbies, bar facilities, reception spaces, VIP Lounge and auditorium, administration of marquee and poster box displays, coordination with staff on special projects, events, and tours throughout the facility.

· Oversee the inventory, maintenance, storage and security of all equipment and properties under the department of operations.

· Assist in overseeing the general upkeep, cleanliness and overall preparedness of all physical spaces including auditorium, lobbies, vestibules, catering and concessions areas, loading docks, backstage doors and fire escapes, off-stage spaces, elevators, orchestra pit, dressing rooms, green room, restrooms, wardrobe, laundry, storage spaces, offices, mechanical rooms and any other designated areas.

· Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with supervisory and subordinate staff to provide quality customer and venue services.

· Assist in maintaining a safe environment during public and private events.

· Maintain a visible presence when the venue is open to the public.

· Assist the production department as needed.

Required Skills, Abilities & Knowledge of:

· Building maintenance and repair methods and requirements.

· Working operational systems, to include general tasks, standards and practices for a public assembly facility.

· Mechanical equipment, air conditioning, fire systems, emergency power supply, general plumbing and electrical systems, and related preventive maintenance procedures.

· Principles and practices of personnel management and supervision.

· Ability to read and interpret a broad range of specifications, plans, riders and other technically related materials.

· Ability to read and interpret building plans.

· Physically able to climb vertical ladders, work in high places, operate and work in lift equipment, lift moderately heavy equipment, pull ropes and rigging, and generally have a strong able body.

· Demonstrate efficient and effective professional communication skills, both written and oral.

· Assist in supervising part-time and over-hire staff.

· A working knowledge of computer related skills including, but not limited to: spreadsheets, word processing, and electronic mail.

· Ability to work cooperatively with others.

· A knowledge of general stagecraft and stage equipment including, but not limited to: stage lighting, carpentry, rigging, audio, properties and stage management

Acceptable Experience and Training:

· Supervisory experience in facilities management.

· Extensive event coordination experience.

· Other combinations of professional experience and educations that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
