Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Senior Environmental Remediation Specialist to help grow our contaminated site assessment and remediation practices in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Cleveland/Akron, Ohio or Louisville, Kentucky areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Proven business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
  • Reviewing and managing data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Reviewing and managing written document production;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • At times, job may also include travel or field visits associated with site visits, site evaluations, remediation system evaluations, remedial system performance reviews, site walks, etc.

You will also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, potential for staff management, staff mentoring, and supporting the leadership team in the Pittsburgh, PA office.

  • Training: This position requires OSHA/MSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Local and overnight travel for field work or client, marketing, or regulator meetings: Up to 20%

Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Soil Science or Geology. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (P.E., P.G., VAP Certified Professional, L.S.R.P., or similar) within province guidelines. (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of direct environmental consulting experience in United States/International marketplace, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of U.S. regulations. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Excellent leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
