The Senior Network Engineer designs, analyzes, plans and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. The Senior Network Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Job Description

The Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage network monitoring and management tools, ensuring the stability, and performance of our enterprise networks. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in network tools like SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, IPAM, and LiveAction, along with a strong background in automation and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tool Design and Implementation • Lead the deployment, configuration, and customization of network monitoring and management tools.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools to enhance network visibility and operations.

  • Integrate tools into existing infrastructure using APIs and automation frameworks.

  1. Monitoring and Performance Management •
  • Oversee real-time monitoring of network performance using tools like SolarWinds and ThousandEyes.

  • Analyze network traffic using flow-based tools such as LiveAction to ensure QoS and optimize performance.

  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues to minimize downtime.

  1. IP Address Management (IPAM)
  • Manage IP address space, ensuring proper allocation, usage, and integration with DNS/DHCP systems.

  • Support network segmentation and IPv6 planning efforts.

  1. Collaboration and Leadership
  • Collaborate with network, security, and IT teams to ensure alignment on tools and processes.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on tool usage and best practices.

  • Act as a technical point of contact for tool-related escalations.

  1. Documentation and Reporting
  • Develop detailed documentation for configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with 3+ years focusing on network tools.

  • Hands-on experience with tools like SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes, IPAM solutions, and LiveAction

  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, or equivalent).

  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments

  • CCNA or CCNP or equivalent certifications

  • 5-10 years on Network Operations support role

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$97,900 - $133,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
