Waystar Specialist QA Engineer in Louisville, Kentucky

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Right now, we are looking for an outstanding, brilliant, and driven Specialist QA Engineer to join our growing team. The Specialist QA Engineer is responsible for testing the company's products to ensure that company standards and specifications are met. Responsibilities include executing test cases, creating and running automated scripts, creating defect reports, and working with Application Engineering to troubleshoot issues. The Specialist QA Engineer will perform some, or all, of the following types of testing: functional, regression, usability, and load/performance. Also, the Specialist QA Engineer works closely with the Manager, Application Engineering to ensure that the product is meeting the Waystar quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Possesses domain expertise in one or more sections of a Waystar engineered product (UI, back-end, X12, security, etc.)

  • Takes ownership of project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

  • Able to convert complex manual test cases into automated tests, including Web, service, and API tests, and tests with no existing pattern to follow

  • Automated tests produced demonstrate sophistication of readability/reusability of code, and can employ complex SQL scripting

  • Capable of analyzing functional requirements documents, and identifying gaps in those requirements, with respect to the product they apply to

  • Can design and execute load tests, and comprehensive automated tests for complex systems

  • Develops, runs, and maintains manual tests and test cases within the software test suite; follows up with leadership to have test plans reviewed and approved, executes tests, & records results and defects

  • Works with Application Engineers to reproduce & resolve problems in the functionality, accuracy, and efficiency of new or enhanced software features built by Application Engineering

  • Ensures the quality of Application Engineering releases, and that Application Engineering efforts match their functional requirements

  • Thoroughly understands and follows Application Engineering and QA processes and procedures

  • Within scope of assignments, establishes and maintains thorough and accurate documentation of work and communicates technical issues to Application Engineers, QA leadership, Lead Application Engineers, and Managers, Application Engineering

  • Analyzes and reproduces problems reported by Client Success; acquires a complete set of relevant data, so that the problem can be accurately characterized

  • Can code simple productivity tools to further aid QA Engineering productivity; capable of extending the QA automated test framework, to allow other QA Engineers to write new types of tests

  • Additional duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 5+ years’ experience with Azure DevOps or other test management applications

  • 5+ years’ experience writing SQL queries

  • 2+ years’ experience programming with C#

  • 2+ year(s) of experience programming with Selenium

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to execute recurring tasks with precision

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Self-motivated and driven

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role is preferred

  • Experience with X12 or Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management is preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) is preferred
