Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for designing, implementing, directing and strategically consulting on our carrier relations initiatives. They are responsible for improving efficiency and effectiveness of carrier relations and serving as a valuable brand ambassador of J.B. Hunt. This manager is a primary decision-maker related to goal-setting, reporting, planning, and strategy for carrier onboarding and/or acquisition.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Direct team as to the necessary items carriers must produce to expedite the hiring process while addressing escalated issues from the team regarding safety, insurance, claims, payables, legal and fraud by working with our legal and internal personnel to resolve problems for the carrier and the company.
Collaborate with internal departments to integrate new technology, ensure carrier requirements are met, and mitigate risk.
Represent J.B. Hunt with third-party vendors and regulatory groups during contract negotiations.
Perform benchmarking activities by creating and maintaining relationships with competitors/other companies in the industry to establish market best practices.
Establish and adjust team goals in order to meet company needs and objectives.
Collaborate with other business groups to build diversity and inclusion procedures in order to facilitate a better workplace and drive diversification of J.B. Hunt's carrier base.
Develop processes and procedures using available data to drive automation, efficiency, and maximize productivity.
Lead regular carrier visits and/or conferences both at corporate or in the field to build and maintain strong relationships and carrier retention.
Promote positive relations with Carriers and J.B. Hunt staff by regular communication in order to facilitate productive, long-term relationships and minimize carrier turnover.
Establish and maintain a system to periodically review existing carriers’ company and regulatory requirements, to ensure compliance is maintained throughout the contract.
Create the strategies that will continuously develop the onboarding team in order to meet carrier goals while performing management duties such as maintaining time and attendance, interviewing, hiring, corrective actions, and weekly reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
With at least 5 years of related experience with 3 years of which being relevant leadership experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics, recruiting, sales, or related field, and/or military equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management with at least 5 years of related experience with 3 years of which being relevant leadership experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics, recruiting, sales, or related field.
Knowledge of J.B. Hunt.

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
