The Assistant Finance Manager will primarily cover assisting in the financial management of certain real estate assets and investment holding companies held by the ECPLF Fund (“ECPLF” or the “Fund”).
The role will be based in Luxembourg and will, inter alia, require interactions with third party service providers (accounting, reporting, tax, VAT, property managers, administrator, depository, auditors, legal advisors etc.) and as well with various internal departments (fund management, company secretarial team, board members, treasury, tax, structuring team etc.). The main goal of the role is to ensure the timely and accurate compliance with deadlines for the recurring financial reporting, statutory reporting and audit, as well as tax, VAT and other regulatory filing requirements. They may also assist with the acquisition and disposal of assets.
The Assistant Finance Manager will directly report to the Finance Manager of the Fund.
Financial reporting and Compliance
Day to day accounting matters
Review and IFRS reports from third party providers
Providing support to third party providers
Preparation / review of NAV statements and supporting calculations
Review of Quarterly Investor Reports
Responding to queries from Fund management, Tax, Structuring team, Investors etc in a timely and accurate manner
Support of the interim and annual audit as part of the wider team
Support the Depository`s review
Operations and Admin
Review of supplier invoices and assistance with weekly payments
Interact with appropriate internal teams on any banking, company secretarial, legal, treasury, risk
Interact with external services providers on operational matters – company secretary, valuers, legal counsel, tax advisors, etc.
Prepares materials for Management Company Board meetings as appropriate
Cash / debt management
Monitor bank transactions and balances, and assistance with forecast of cashflow/capital requirements
Arrange loan drawdowns from external banks
Arrange capital drawdown from investors
Preparation / review of loan compliance covenants if any
VAT & Tax
Interact with internal and external VAT & tax compliance and advisory teams and other to ensure timely and accurate filing and payment of all taxes and VAT
Coordination of new VAT and tax registration of legal entities
Manage tax and VAT payments
Maintain up to date information about VAT & Tax payments & filing etc. in an internal monitoring system
Assist the wider team on tax and structuring projects
Other
Provide assistance to Fund Management and to the wider Nuveen team on transactions (acquisition, sale, restructuring, refinancing)
Ad hoc reporting and analysis
Involvement in new projects, as appropriate, as well as the project to transition to Yardi
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
Strong academic records in accounting and finance is desirable, although not essential for a candidate who has the relevant skills and work experience
Good general accounting knowledge is essential, and familiar with IFRS, LUX GAAP rules is an advantage
Competency in Excel
Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential
Competencies Required
Team player - close liaison with fund management and other areas of the finance and operations team, as well as external advisers. Support the other members of the team in their relationships with various onshore and offshore third party suppliers
Proactivity is an essential skill for the role
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work to fixed deadlines
Attention to details and good analytical skills
This role requires no regulatory designation.
