Crane Aerospace & Electronics is hiring for a Production Material Planner II at the Lynnwood, WA site.

The Production Material Planner is responsiblefor creating work orders and schedule production of key fabricated parts (rotors, liners, blades) to support the Fabrication Value Stream. Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. You’ll find Crane Aerospace & Electronics in some of the toughest environments: from engines to landing gear; from satellites to medical implants and from missiles to unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our product line includes custom, semi-custom and off-the-shelf power converters and custom miniature (hybrid) electronics circuits for applications across various markets including commercial, space and military aerospace and fiber optics. We have been designing and building DC/DC converters, EMI filters, and special products since 1969.

Essential Functions:

  • Review Kanban and MRP requirements daily to release jobs to production through the creation of Work Orders in the Oracle ERP System;Changes or splits open Work Orders as required

  • Identifies and resolves daily material issues, facilitating or expediting necessary components to support the Finishing Value Stream

  • Reviews Master Production Schedules and Work Orders, confers with Planners, Supervisors, Sales and Engineering, to communicate daily priorities for specific customer orders to shop floor.Coordinates materials delivery information with Buyers as necessary

  • Communicates with Planners, Supervisors, and Contract Administrators to communicate and evaluate work progress. May prepare reports summarizing production-related information such as material shortages, downtime of work and equipment

  • Responsible for Inventory levels to achieve inventory turn goals of key production components

  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position

  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience : 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment with inventory responsibilites.

  • Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process used in the operating unitl of the assignment. Requires a working knowledge of buying and ordering procedures.

  • Skills/Abilities:

  • A working knowledge of production planning, material requirements planning and Kanban systems

  • A working knowledge of computer systems that support production, e.g. inventory control, purchasing, production scheduling and MRP

  • Well-developed skill in communicating with others

  • Proficiency in Excel and Word required

  • Ability to work with Access databases required

  • Requires the ability to learn and carry out all aspects of the position; to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams; to solve urgent problems associated with manufacture of products; and to document and communicate production outcomes and trends

  • Ability to perform math and logic computations requiring sequencing of times, critical incidents, and numeric information

  • Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams

  • Ability to learn the techniques associated with Kanban systems

  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent

  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Kanban

  • Track "Work Center Shortages" sheet and post on the Kanban board daily

  • Review all assigned Kanban boards at the prescribed times

  • Review overdue material for impact to schedule

  • Notify Values Stream Manager and Shop Floor Supervisor(s) of past due, expedite material as needed

  • Enter work order from Internal Kanban slot & put Kanban card in the corresponding due date slot

Kanban Maintenance/Audit

  • Perform a daily audit of the Kanban board to make sure all cards have been moved per kanban instructions

  • Perform a weekly audit of the kanban loops per Kanban Audit Instructions including movement of cards

  • Look for spikes in the demand and reviews with fabrication Values Stream Manager and Supervisors to create required GAP cards.

  • Works with Kanban Coordinator adjusting Kanban sizes per schedule

  • Works with Kanban Coordinator in keeping PFEP data up to date.

  • Works with Kaban Coordinator in printing new or lost cards or removing excess cards during resizing of loop

Working Conditions :

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary

  • Requires occasional travel to support customers
