GeoCue Group, Inc Geomatic Engineer in Madison, Alabama

Part of the Research and Development Team, responsible for the design, testing and deployment of 3D geospatial data processing methods, to be integrated in software suites developed by GeoCue. Responsible for developing processing methods to transform the collected raw geospatial data into actionable insights while analyzing the quality of used sensors and their integration. Help consolidate geomatic (the science and technology of gathering, analyzing, interpreting, distributing and using spatially referenced information) for mdGroups and GeoCue Groups products to the United States. Design and implement specific algorithms for the processing of geospatial data. Transfer knowledge to the production team and contribute to the implementation and the integration of the algorithm within the software. Investigate and analyze acquisition systems of geospatial data, including analyze quality of Li DAR that will be integrated in manufactured payloads. Develop point cloud processing algorithms and those requiring the use of image and LiDAR point cloud for classification, segmentation, and simplification. Be a key participant in the calibration of manufactured payloads and to the definition of optimal planning for the acquisition of data depending on the application. Involved in the design of processing algorithms integrating both LiDAR data and images - Point Cloud Colorization, Camera-LiDAR calibration. Test the prototype algorithms for UAVs LiDAR and photo data sets. Read scientific literature and analyze existing methods that have been developed for geospatial data processing. Write scientific papers and make oral presentations in international conferences.

Bachelor degree (or foreign equivalent) in Geomatic Engineering, Hydrogeography, Physical Science or related discipline.

3 years of experience in the job offered, or in a Geomatic or Surveying Engineering position. Experience must include working knowledge of the investigation, design, analysis and implementation of specific algorithms/systems for the processing of geospatial data.

Must have hands-on experience utilizing LiDAR data processing and Photogrammetry for integration of complex UAV systems and payloads. Experience can be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
