The primary responsibilities for the Quality Specialist position include but not limited to:
- Provides quality assurance support to all ASI locations to ensure that purchased product is built in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
- Provides leadership and guidance to the production areas in support of product quality.
Essential Job duties but not limited to:
- Communicates and interacts with all departments on all concerns for produced and purchased products.
- Assist and support specific assigned facilities with problem solving, countermeasure development, and continuous improvement.
- Manage process and engineering changes internal and external. Log all activities, including but not limited to maintaining schedules and check lists with all groups to ensure implementation. Act as the central point of contact for the customer and suppliers regarding changes.
- Schedule, maintain, and monitor manufacturing process audits and plant operation audits.
- Support plant activity related to measurable improvements and kaizen activity outside of normal quality problem reporting routes.
- Issue supplier quality reports. Provide support to ASI Plants in need of additional follow up regarding supplier concerns. When necessary, confirm these activities at the suppliers location.
- Act as the main point of contact to raw material suppliers regarding quality concerns and improvement activities.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Criteria
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- Possess good and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
- Display statistical/analytical reasoning.
- Quality certification a plus.
Education AND/OR Experience
- Employment, experience, or internship in the quality field. Possible entry level position.
- Bachelors degree in quality, engineering, or related fields preferred.
- Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes from raw material through finished forming and welding is a plus.
