City of Canton Deputy City Clerk in Madison, Mississippi

Deputy City Clerk - Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts receivable and accounts payable, oversee the day-to-day office support functions of the clerk's office. Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets and updating said information as needed. 

Communicated with clients and customers to request payments and set up payments for various city departments. Collection of payments from customers and accurately record in the system. Create reports and balances sheets that document overall profits and losses. Update client accounts based on payment and contact information. Additional duties as assigned by management. 

Qualifications:

The person in this position must have a valid high school diploma and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a related work experience with progressive responsibilites. Must be computer literate and proficient typist; must posess excellent communication skills, both veral and written. 

A certification as a municipal clerk or a master municipal clerk is highly preferred; and an understanding of the principles, functions and operations of municipal government is highly preferred.
