JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Religious Studies Program at
UW-Madison invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position
in Religion and Technology beginning August 2025. We would be especially
interested in applicants whose research and/or teaching addresses AI in
some way. Scholars of all religious traditions and geographic areas
whose research is rooted in religion and technology are encouraged to
apply. Applicants should have the capacity to teach large gateway
courses to Religious Studies and a capstone course on theory and method
in Religious Studies. The successful candidate will advance the
educational mission of the College of Letters & Science, that values,
prioritizes, and actualizes evidence-based and student-centered teaching
and (undergraduate student) mentoring. They will contribute to an
environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for
faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will actively participate in
the intellectual life of the Religious Studies Program and will teach
introductory surveys and upper-level undergraduate courses, mentor
undergraduate students, engage in significant ongoing scholarly research
and publication, and perform department, university, and community
services as appropriate for faculty rank. The general teaching load is 4
courses per year, 2 in one semester and 2 in the other. Institutional
