Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin System is transforming the administrative infrastructure within the University system. The overall transformation is a people, process, policy, and technology initiative which will include business process standardization, optimization, and redesign in the areas of finance, human resources, and research administration, and will include implementation of Workday to support the changes. The overall objective of the Administrative Transformation Program (ATP) is to right-size the administrative complexity to advance the missions of education, research, and outreach.

As part of this effort and in preparation for a new ERP, the University is hiring Workday Conversion and Integration Developers.

Responsibilities:Serves as a technical lead in the design, integration, delivery, and provides advanced and varied consultation, project management, and operational support of applications or services, development operations (DevOps), through automation an/or infrastructure as code. Anticipates issues and devises resolution methodology. Provides non-routine maintenance and long-term assistance to ensure subsystems and infrastructure function together and business needs are met. Provides guidance and training to other staff and serves as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders.

  • 20% Develops, programs, and/or deploys automation workflows for deployment, configuration, and/or monitoring of systems/services

  • 20% Manages, maintains, selects, and develops automation tools and infrastructure, including security configurations

  • 40% Performs integration, migration, configuration, and security of existing applications and services into automated infrastructures

  • 20% Communicates and coordinates with staff related to the project and/or system

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting and managing ERP systems.

  2. Experience with coordinating and collaborating with cross functional partners through multiple phases of the Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC).

  3. Experience implementing or supporting integration solutions with ERP software.

Preferred:

  1. Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Workday development tools and data definitions preferred.

  2. Experience integrating systems with third-party service vendors.

  3. Experience with SQL, SOAP, API, XML, XSLT, REST, JSON, etc.

  4. Excellent organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills.

  5. Ability to diagnose and solve highly complex problems with larger ERP systems.

  6. Knowledge of the UW System and UW-Madison environment.

Starting salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

Anticipated duration of this position is 3-4 years. End date is dependent upon project completion.
