JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Wisconsin Center for Education
Research (WCER) operates within UW-Madison\'s top-ranked School of
Education and is known as one of the first and most productive education
research centers in the world. WCER\'s mission is to improve educational
outcomes for diverse student populations, impact education practice
positively and foster collaborations among academic disciplines. For 60
years, WCER has been an incubator for advancements in education policy
and practice. Within WCER, services and resources, such as our Client
Services unit, are provided for UW-Madison researchers working on
innovative grant-based and fee for service projects. The Client Services
Manager will oversee a multi-person (approximately 6-10 person) team of
administrative assistants and student hourly workers who perform a
variety of service functions in support of all WCER education research
projects. As a supervisor, they will ensure adequate resources are
available to provide excellent customer service, ensure professional
development of the Client Services team, and monitor the unit budget. In
addition to overseeing the daily operations of the unit, the Client
Services Manager will also contribute to the overall center strategy by
actively participating on the WCER executive leadership and operations
teams. Specific Responsibilities for Position: - Operate as a customer
service-oriented team leader with an ability to maintain a global view
of individuals, projects, and the larger strategic goals of WCER. -
Manage and oversee communications with research projects, team members,
and external stakeholders to ensure program success. - Supervise staff,
exercise hiring authority, address performance issues, and conduct
semi-annual performance reviews. - Foster a positive work culture
through effective communication and the development of clear
processes. - Provide ongoing support and professional development
opportunities to build knowledge, skills, and abilities across each
member of the work unit. - Delegate responsibilities and assignments
efficiently and effectively across members of the Client Services
