The opportunity
The Pricing Officer (PO) is part of the Corporate Solutions and Alternative Distribution Team whose main responsibility is to generate new business proposals, renewal offers, review profitability and claims experience of existing group clients and generate reports for the entire Corporate Solutions and Alternative Distribution team.
This role requires understanding of the life insurance industry, specifically group life products, actuarial principles, risk assessment, and market trends. The successful candidate will work closely with the sales, group administration, and products teams to ensure competitive and profitable pricing strategies.
Responsibilities
Generate competitive new business proposals using sound pricing judgment and data analytics, while meeting set turnaround times.
Utilize analytical skills to provide rate recommendations aligned with market trends and company objectives, ensuring both competitiveness and profitability.
Assist in the evaluation of reinsurance arrangements and their impact on pricing.
Review the profitability and claims experience of current group clients and provide insights and actionable recommendations to improve client profitability.
Work closely with Sales Officers, Group Administration, and Products teams to align and provide recommendations on pricing strategies and operational efficiencies.
Identify areas for improvement in pricing assumptions and pricing methodologies.
Conduct peer-to-peer reviews of proposals generated and reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
May lead small projects to develop and implement processes to improve efficiency.
Prepare and release periodic sales performance reports to monitor channel performance on various KPIs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and organization.
Prepare reports on annualize premium equivalent, distributor compensations, taxes, and premium collections on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial data.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail in reviewing and preparing detailed reports, ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial data.
Facilitate approval processes, compute projections, and validate promo results to motivate and engage distributors.
Generate ad hoc reports as deemed necessary to support various business needs and decision-making processes.

What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, BS Mathematics or Applied Math
With previous experience generating corporate proposals either in life insurance or HMO.
With two years or more relevant experience in actuarial science or data analytics, preferably in a life insurance or HMO setting.
Experience in pricing and underwriting focused on group insurance products.
Has held similar positions relevant to the requirement of the job
Ability to make sound pricing judgment
Adept in Excel
