Summary of Role:

As the IT Global Cloud Operations Lead, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Cloud Operations team and Cloud Platforms, ensuring efficient and effective operation of our support teams and striving for continuous improvement to our processes. You will create and improve the practices of managing, delivering, tuning, optimizing, and performance of workloads and IT services that run in a cloud environment. This global scope includes on-premise, edge, hybrid, public and private cloud infrastructures.

You will serve as the central point of contact for IT Operations for the following activities:

Event Monitoring:

  • Monitor AWS/Azure production events of all types and ensure a timely response to avoid incidents/Service interruptions. (OP5, AWS & Azure Cloud trial, threshold, and audit logs)

Incident Response:

  • Follow GF incident Mgmt. process to identify and resolve issues on AWS / Azure environments.

Problem Management:

  • Follow GF Problem Management process to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action

Request Fulfillment:

  • Implement repetitive operational activities that are predefined in the service catalog and are assigned to CloudOps e.g. Provisioning, managing, and deprovisioning of AWS resource like (EC2, ECS EMR, S3, SNS, SQS, and other services)

Change Management:

  • Implement operational changes are in the approved architectural framework e.g. capacity expansions, minor/medium changes in the resource configurations and release of new resources.

Maintenance/Upgrade:

  • Review, evaluate, and install patches that apply to all environments/Services.

  • Timely upgrades of software/OS versions

Audit & Compliance support.

  • Ensure audit control tasks are completed in a timely manner.

  • Provide reports and data references as needed by the internal and external auditors after obtaining GF’s approval.

Config Management

  • Register, update and maintain all services/resources in CMDB implemented in AWS production system.

An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in information technology and have experience executing cloud strategies and day-to-day operations. Must be willing to travel to various sites to conduct assessments / reviews and support audits as needed.

Your Job:

Spearhead and manage implementation and upgrade of cloud-based application infrastructure and supporting software.Overall responsibility for Reviewing/Planning/Deploying OS, Database, and application patches/updates in a mixed platform (Windows, Linux) environment.

Responsible for the day-to-day multi-cloud operations and management across VMware VM farms, AWS and Azure platforms.

Ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operations of VM farm that supports core business critical applicationsChampion the effective and efficient automation and orchestration of cloud infrastructure and operations leveraging various automation tools and technologies.Ensure robust monitoring and logging solutions in place to maintain real-time visibility into infrastructure and application health.Provide leadership and assist with troubleshoot application issues to maintain peak performance and user experience.Lead a team of engineering staff, establishing priorities, allocating resources for effective Cloud operation and support for multiple applications.Ensure the availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure and operations for business continuity.

Accountable for defining, monitoring and improving KPIs via continual service improvement year on year in accordance with written objectives.

Cultivate standards in processes and procedures for cloud operational practices and processes while increasing the levels of maturity in the organization.

Provide CSA (Current State Analysis) to peers and managers on cloud status.

Serve as POC for GlobalFoundries IT Global Operations.

Required Qualifications:

5 years of Cloud Experience

5 years of IT Operations Experience

ITIL Training

Cloud Deployment Experience

Hands on experience on AWS Services but not limited to – EC2, RDS, Redshift, VPC, Route53, Serverless, AD DS, EMR, ECS, S3, FSx, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route tables and AWS monitoring tools

Exposure on IAM Identity Center, AWS Control Tower and all security logs of AWS

Hands on experience on Azure Services but not limited to – Virtual machine, Storage Accounts, Recovery services, Load balancers, Route table, AD DS, Azure functions, CLIs, backup and all Azure monitoring services.

Experienced in the processes of Incident, Problem, and Change as it relates to the ITIL4 Framework

Preferred Qualifications:

ServiceNow Experience

Experience with Data Centers

Experience with Cloud platform data backups and restoration

Strong understanding of VMware Horizon, vSphere, and related technologies

Experience with cloud automation tools like Terraform, Ansible and VM

Expected Salary Range

$103,000.00 - $194,200.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
