Dartmouth Health Maintenance Technician Facilities in Manchester, New Hampshire

Overview

$5,000 Sign On Bonus for eligible new hires.

Performs basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and miscellaneous repairs and preventive maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs carpentry tasks (rough and finish carpentry), sheetrock repairs, patching and painting.

  • Trouble shoot problems with equipment; perform mechanical work on pumps, motors, etc.

  • Makes periodic checks of unmanned machinery spaces to verify proper function and performance.

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or inspection tasks.

  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system, to enter in work orders, track progress, communicate with users, and closeout orders once completed.

  • Maintains familiarity with all safety features of plant systems equipment and complies with current safety regulations.

  • Contacts the police / fire departments with emergent issues of building safety and security.

  • Sets up rooms for meetings or conferences, arranges tables and chairs and secures specified AV materials and equipment.

  • Rotates through schedule for emergency calls as requested for building related emergencies, after hours alarm calls, and staffing shortages.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.

  • Prior experience in a health care environment preferred.

  • Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of building mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

  • Knowledge of air quality, OSHA, hazardous materials and other related environmental issues that could affect health care facilities.

  • Be available for on-call.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required in accordance with D-H's Driver Disqualifications Guidelines.
