Eversource Energy Manager, Right of Way (Hybrid) in Manchester, New Hampshire

Our Team:

We have an amazing opportunity to join our Right Of Way (ROW) Team. This role is responsible for land management of system rights of way (ROW) and supporting capital construction and maintenance projects through land right acquisitions, dispositions, leases, licenses, permits and other access arrangements. Responsible for the augmentation, maintenance and preservation of the company's property records and land assets.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the ongoing review of system rights of way to ensure compatible uses by established agreements with third parties and compliance with the Company’s use guidelines and Right of Way operating decisions
  • Negotiates land use agreements and ROW acquisitions for activities within Eversource ROW’s
  • Resolves Eversource boundary and property right disputes; resolves access problems and ROW boundaries questions and NERC compliance concerns
  • Maintains the safety and security of Eversource’s ROW corridors, including but not limited to:

  • Access roads (eastern MA)

  • Gates and barriers
  • Remedies unauthorized activities within ROW; resolves trespassing issues
  • Interprets easement language; manages:

  • Distribution easements (CT, western MA & NH)

  • Reliability easements (CT, western MA)
  • Gas easements (CT, MA)
  • Provides project support including obtaining federal, state and local construction and maintenance permits including but not limited to:

  • highway and railroad;

  • Transmission wire crossing permits (MA & CT);
  • DCR & MWRA permits (eastern MA)
  • Serves as community outreach liaison to municipal officials and local boards to educate them about Eversource’s Right of Ways and easements
  • Manages the researching of land records and registry; provides appraisal and survey support
  • Negotiates revenue agreements, including Wireless/PCS agreements (CT & western MA, NH)

Technical Knowledge/Skills

  • Highly effective communication, negotiation and customer service skills
  • Ability to professionally and positively represent the company in successfully addressing and resolving complex landowner issues and land use conflicts
  • Highly effective at cross collaboration, initiative, building and maintaining positive relationships with federal, state and local agencies
  • Able to effectively manage multiple and shifting projects and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, confidently and decisively
  • Highly effective at working collaboratively with project teams to advance work, meet timelines, and manage and resolve project real estate and ROW land rights challenges
  • Working knowledge of ROW land management principles and practices
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and communicate registry land records survey plans and engineered ROW plans

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Law, Engineering or other related discipline.

Experience:

  • Ten to twelve years of experience in at least one of the following: ROW management; property management; real estate law

Licenses & Certifications: Requires a valid driver’s license

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent outdoor work in all weather conditions required; including walking and viewing sites
  • Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
  • Frequent travel between sites in MA/CT/NH.

Compensation and Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position starts at $141,750.00 to $157,500.00 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
