Compeer Financial Intern Financial Reporting in Mankato, Minnesota

CPT & Pre- Opt candidates invited to apply. This is a paid internship; however, the intern must provide their own housing and transportation. Business related transportation and expenses will be paid by the organization. This intern will work part-time during the school year and full-time in the summer up until graduation . The position would start around April 2024. The intern must be able to work out of our Mankato, MN office. Position Overview: The Financial Reporting Intern serves Compeer Financial's internal and external clients by providing financial accounting services. The Intern will primarily focus on Compeer's patronage dividend process by providing internal, regulatory and external financial reporting services. Essential Functions:

  • Patronage: Works with estates, transfers, retirements, outstanding checks, patronage agreements, unclaimed property and general ledger balancing as appropriate.
  • Financial reporting: Assists with financial reporting processes and report preparation relative to call reports, shareholder reports, allowances etc.
  • Client service: Provides high quality service to internal and external clients by answering questions and resolving issues related to Compeer's patronage program in a timely matter.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working towards completing an Accounting or Finance degree, with 1-2 years of experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and software applications such as Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Solid organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills and time management required.
  • Must also be detail oriented, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
