Rise Baking Company Maintenance Supervisor in Manteno, Illinois

Job Purpose

Manage and coordinate activities of the Maintenance team for the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in manufacturing operations. Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the facility.

Essential Functions

• Directly oversee Maintenance team including staffing, training, performance standards, etc.

• Oversee the day-to-day assignments of the Maintenance team

• Partner with the Maintenance Manager to develop scope and assign technicians to work orders and projects

• Ensure weekly preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and work orders are completed satisfactorily

• Monitor scheduled work and adjust as required to meet production schedules

• Inspect completed work for conformance to standards, specifications, and blueprints

• Continually monitor working conditions and equipment use; suggest changes to increase efficiency and quality

• Maintain and track production maintenance downtime

• Ensure maintenance shop equipment and tools meet operational requirements

• Ensure all plant maintenance operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment in compliance with OSHA rules

• Manage the department such that current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) are adhered to and a professional appearance is maintained

•Conduct regular maintenance inspections

• Operate within the Maintenance budget; initiate cost saving measures

• Provide leadership in implementing/maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs

• Work with Human Resources regarding personnel and performance issues

• Foster a sense of team responsibility for achieving goals

• Support employee growth through individual development planning and management

• Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of products manufactured in the facility

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• Associate's/Bachelor's degree, program certificate, or equivalent work experience

• 2-4 years of maintenance experience

• Strong, demonstratable electrical and PLC knowledge

• Familiarity with Allen Bradley hardware and software

• Demonstrated ability to organize and supervise a diverse work force

• Familiarity and understanding of NEC and NFPA 70E regulations and requirements

• Strong mechanical and planning aptitude

• Ability to articulate and understand the requirements necessary to maintain assets at base condition and importance to comply with conditions of use

• Knowledge of food manufacturing, FDA/USDA, OSHA, and EPA regulations

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS

• Continuous improvement mind-set with the ability to support multiple projects

• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems

• Excellent skills in the areas of teamwork, motivation, relationship building, and coaching

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
