A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility for the Global Commercial Manager is to grow our casting, forging and additive business and manage all commercial activities for the core products, processes, capabilities and sites they cover. This position is responsible for commercial activities and results. This position is Michigan based and will visit different sites regularly. In addition to travel and site visits, it is expected to attend customer/team meetings and tradeshows. The Global Commercial Manager reports to the Sr. Director - Commercial Excellence on the commercial team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop and execute commercial strategy for Forming business unit
Develop pipeline of opportunities and win new business for growth with other commercial sales teams members.
Lead the commercial activities for the assigned capabilities:
Complete required actions, goals and growth plans including the Value Creation Plan (VCP)
Grow revenue for assigned capabilities
Track opportunities in salesforce.com and update as required
Research the capabilities responsible for to understand the market, e.g., size of addressable market, top players, competitors, top programs
Develop a sales plan and guide the field sales team to target the most attractive opportunities for growth
Identify capacity gaps and develop, lead and execute campaigns to ensure gaps are filled
Become technically proficient for all capabilities at responsible sites.
Engage with customers to ensure we are meeting our organizational and commercial team goals
Develop monthly demand with responsible site management team and confirm demand plan with site leader
Participate in other S&OP review meetings as required
Lead and participate in commercial initiatives as required
Contribute to and present required proposals for the Project Management Committee (PMC)
Understand Orchid's performance, goals and capacity to fill gaps where needed
Keep management informed of developments in the marketplace and among customers and competitors. Identify potential new products/capabilities that would enhance Orchid's position in the marketplace.
Attend and work at industry events and exhibitions to represent Orchid and meet with customers and prospects
Complete duties in Salesforce.com weekly which includes but is not limited to:
Customer meeting notes
Opportunities
Lead follow-up
Quote follow-up
Market intelligence
Campaigns
Manage portfolio of products to ensure the capability profit margins increase each year through regular review of the portfolio Support the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process for demand planning and revenue reporting including the management of PO coverage for the locked schedule at responsible sites and engaging customers to fill gaps.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Required)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience in a role with face-to-face customer interaction (Required)
Experience in the Orthopedic Industry (Required)
Experience in at Least one of Orchid's Core capabilities (Forging, Casting, Machining, Coating, or Packaging) (Required)
Cross-functional Experience (Required)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
30% Regular travel to sites, customer/team meetings, & trade shows
