Public Relations Director

Location: Alternate locations may be considered. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Public Relations Director is responsible for leading the communications and public relations efforts for the designated business unit(s) including strategic communications, media relations, issues management, and reputation management.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develops and leads a comprehensive, strategic communications program with enterprise impact that includes work with government relations, corporate communications, and senior management.

  • Implements strategies and tactics designed to educate and build relationships with the public, the media and key opinion leaders.

  • Works closely with business unit leadership team to develop and implement a strategic communications plan in support of the Company's overall initiatives.

  • Researches, develops, reviews and/or edits communications materials for executive management.

  • Leads complex departmental assignments and workload with an enterprise impact.

  • Provides guidance or direction to team members on key department initiatives and/or enterprise initiatives.

  • Collaborates with PR team across markets to ensure brand and message consistency with related programs or initiatives.

  • Understands how to work within complex matrixed environments and can navigate to accomplish goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field; 8 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Understanding of the health care business, health insurance, media relations and government relations required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience in managed care or health insurance industry preferred.

  • Issues management experience.

  • Communications strategy experience.

  • Experience working in matrixed environment.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $120,120 to $180,180.

Locations: Mendota Heights, MN.
