How you'll make an impact: Software QA Engineer for Data Team: Works with the Data Engineers to test that business processes are met for testing and management of data. Validates data sources, creates negative tests and troubleshoots data ingested, prepped, and stored before it goes live. Validates data quality, data mapping, data sources, extracts data applications of transformation logic and tests the end to end integrity of data uploaded in target tables. Analyzes the data values and business processes in the requirements and works closely with product owners, data analysts, and business analysts to ensure tables are storing correct data, testing meets the Acceptance Criteria, and data undergoes performance testing. QA Engineer will use automated testing and related tools to perform job functions. What we are looking for: : Developing plans to validate data being loaded into the data environments such as the data lake; Executing on validation plans to proactively evaluate the quality of data contained in source systems as well as presented via dashboards; Measuring and reporting to management on the state of data quality; Providing ad-hoc support to ensure that best practices are followed; Tests the target data bases; Uses Jira to track work and open defects; Able to execute SQL queries to perform backend database testing and compare DBs; Knowledge of data models and stored procedure preferred but not required; Must have the ability to multitask; Should be detail oriented and have an analytical mindset; Performs both testing and analysis; Develop functional test scripts and execute test cases; Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures for functional and regression testing; Soft Skills include: critical thinking, creativity, team player, strong communication skills; Consults with development engineers in the resolution of problems; Provides direction on complex projects; Oversees environmental "smoke testing" and sanity tests; Some performance testing experience preferred; Demonstrate expertise of building consensus across diverse business groups and leaders; Create and maintain test strategy / plans where needed; Analyze and interpret design specifications, business requirements and apply information to the functional and non-functional testing process. Experience you'll bring : * Bachelor's degree or 5 equivalent experience in lieu of degree * Recent experience in Software Quality Engineering and Test Automation; * Strong scripting skills in Python (Java or C# will be good to have as well). * Data cleansing - identifying, assessing and resolving critical data quality issues; * Participate in planning meetings to validate the accuracy of project requirements; * Position for the Data space - skills will include knowledge or relational data bases and DB knowledge; * Extracting data applications of transformation logic, troubleshooting data storage systems; * Technical skills in Java, SQL, XML, M, ODS, EDW preferred * Some experience with testing data/data bases; * Some development experience; * Experience working in an agile environment The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
