Qualifications

What you'll be doing:

We are looking for a Print Service Technician to install, repair and upgrade our digital print technology. The Print Service Technician operate a wide array of digital printing equipment and support equipment and prints a variety of materials using some of the most sophisticated printers on the market. These functions ensure support, processing, and maintenance of the digital printing department. Keeps printing equipment operating, troubleshoots breakdowns, maintains supplies, performs preventive maintenance, and calls for further repairs when necessary.

  • Provide support to the digital team in support, processing, and maintenance.

  • Loads, runs and unloads materials and jobs on prototype and production digital printers and support equipment.

  • Processes orders and audits of print products.

  • Prepares and maintains an inventory of tools, printed parts ad tests performed

  • Assists project team in completing projects.

  • Attends and participates in group and project meetings.

  • Complies with policies, rules and regulations, and reporting requirements related to health and safety, performance standards, operating procedures, processes, and training.

  • Review the equipment and evaluate its ability to deliver quality.

  • Communicate with the project leads to confirm that all the resources required are available.

  • Study the schematics and blueprints to learn the configuration and methods of printer technologies.

  • Record and report the test results and notify them about the defects and inconsistencies, if any.

  • Take care that the products comply with the safety measures and do not pose a threat to the user.

  • Test, repair and upgrade the machinery and repairing instruments to maintain the efficiency.

    What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Trade School or Post-Secondary Education preferred

  • 0-5 years experience

  • Organized with excellent time management skills.

  • Knowledge of general computer hardware and software.

  • Basic understanding of printer fundamentals.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to lift up to 20kg.

  • Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is a plus.

  • Experience as a service technician in a similar environment is beneficial.

  • Relevant education is beneficial.

  • Operate and troubleshoot errors with our direct-to-film, eco-solvent and sublimation printers, and ability to learn future printers.

  • Familiar with the internal components of our printers, such as boards, cables, printheads, and more.

  • Identify, diagnose, and solve technical issues in a timely manner.

  • Troubleshoot all questions related to commercial inkjet printing.

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

  • Share knowledge and skills with other team members and supervisor.

  • Aid the department in innovating and improving procedures.

  • Conduct training webinars and other videos for customer education.

  • Review and interpret incoming support requests, validate printer warranties and process RMA to the administrative team.

  • Work to test new products and prototypes.

  • Travel to workshop locations, trade shows and customer locations as needed.
