As a Medical Assistant you will:
· Guide Workflow: Direct and coordinate the daily tasks of clinical staff, ensuring efficient patient care delivery and adherence to established protocols.
- Supervisory Support: Assist management staff in supervisory activities, including mentoring, orienting, and providing ongoing training to current and new staff members.
· Departmental Leadership: Collaborate with management to develop and implement departmental goals, processes, and procedures to enhance service quality and patient safety.
· Epic Care Super User: Serve as the departmental super user for Epic Care, providing expertise in electronic health record management and optimization.
· Quality Improvement: Work closely with the Manager to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical and non-clinical functions, infection control procedures, and patient assessments.
· Communication and Education: Conduct routine meetings with staff to communicate procedural changes, provide education, and ensure adherence to best practices.
· Patient Care: Assist physicians with patient care activities, including obtaining medical records, scheduling appointments, preparing exam rooms, and performing clinical procedures.
· Patient Education: Provide individualized patient and family education and supportive counseling as needed, ensuring understanding of treatment plans and follow-up care.
· Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties such as answering calls, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
· Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies' requirements (OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health) and maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and patient data.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT)
OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA)
OR at least 1 year of patient care experience required.
Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in three practice category specific tasks.
Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
Phlebotomy skills are preferred but not required Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
CCM training is required within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
