Aston Carter Staff Accountant in Melville, New York

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.

  • Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
