Robert Half Payroll Supervisor/Manager in Memphis, Tennessee

Description We are offering a role in the hospitality industry, specifically in the payroll management function, located in Memphis, Tennessee. This role encompasses the management of payroll operations for a large number of employees, performing month-end duties, maintaining the general ledger, and executing reconciliations. The role involves working in a dynamic workplace and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll using Workday.

• Manage a team of three direct reports responsible for payroll processing.

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end closing processes.

• Maintain and update the general ledger regularly.

• Perform reconciliations as part of the job function.

• Report to the corporate controller regularly about payroll operations.

• Utilize skills in Workday HRIS and Workday Payroll for efficient payroll management.

• Handle multi-state payroll and payroll taxes.

• Manage year-end payroll activities.

• Reconcile payroll data as part of the job requirements. Requirements • Must possess strong skills in Workday HRIS and Workday Payroll

• Proficiency in Payroll Management is essential

• Experienced in handling Multi-state Payroll

• Must be knowledgeable about Payroll Taxes

• Experience in Year-end Payroll is required

• Ability to Reconcile Payroll is crucial

• Excellent leadership and supervisory skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

• Must have problem-solving abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Solid understanding of business principles and practices

• Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, and spreadsheet management

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
