Sharp Electronics Corporation Product Technical Writer in Memphis, Tennessee

Overview

Responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, references, manuals, or instructions. Assist in developing user experience concepts for controls and IoT specifications through collection, analysis, and synthesis of data guided by the special requirements between the consumer and product functionality.

Manage product support literature, printed materials, and control software. Initiate and track development schedules to meet customer/project goals. Responsible for assigned projects, coordinating tasks with other departments, and maintaining schedules to ensure completion

Responsibilities

  • Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals. Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.

  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and IoT/APP guides. Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.

  • Analyze existing and potential product content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.

  • Create and maintain the information architecture for product control logic systems including communication displays, cooking constants and cooking software.

  • Participate in creating and enhancing digital interfaces for apps, and software programs to make the experience more effortless and enjoyable for consumers. Boost customer satisfaction and build brand loyalty. This includes everything from smooth navigation to enhanced visual appeal.

  • Actively contribute to Product Planning meetings and propose ideas/concepts for future planning.

  • Prepare market research, analysis, and data compilation. Other projects include market research of Sharp competitors or new products.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Communications or related field

  • Proven work experience in technical writing of manuals/instructions and software documentation

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is$31,510 - $65,650. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
