Robert Half Software Engineer in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Are you a creative problem-solver with a passion for building and deploying software solutions? We're looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our client's team and play a vital role in the entire software development lifecycle! You'll leverage your strong programming skills and software engineering principles to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain our software applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and analysis to design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, product managers, QA testers) to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and libraries.

  • Write clean, well-documented, efficient, and maintainable code according to coding standards and best practices.

  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system testing to identify and resolve bugs before deployment.

  • Debug and troubleshoot existing code to ensure application functionality, performance, and stability.

  • Stay up to date on the latest programming languages, technologies, and software engineering best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews and mentor entry level developers. May contribute to technical documentation for developed applications.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a software engineering role.

  • Strong understanding of fundamental programming concepts (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming).

  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript).

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
