Position Overview

The VP, Nuclear Prime Contracts provides strategic direction and implementation of the Prime Contract process and leads the contracts teams dedicated to bidding and executing work for Kiewit Nuclear Solutions.

Location

This position preferred base of operations is in Lenexa, KS or Oak Ridge, TN. Other locations near the KNS hubs may be considered for right skill set

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and plan all aspects of Prime Contracts process from pre-bid to closeout.

  • Work with Business Line Managers to identify key contractual aspects impacting customers and markets they are entering as well as top level contractual solutions that may be discussed with customers.

  • Provide direction to prime contract administrators, both for bid and execution .

  • Represent company in negotiating contracts with owners or DOE site procurement departments.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in bidding and estimating KNS contracts including coordinating contractual documents such as Non-Disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements with legal.

  • Liaison with Procurement to ensure appropriate Prime Contract flowdowns are reviewed and incorporated in applicable subcontracts and material buys.

  • Lead personnel both within and external to Prime Contracts in coordinating contractual compliance support, trainings, policies, and procedures necessary for KNS to execute projects successfully.

  • Support Emergency Response activities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent degree. MBA or Master of Science related to procurement or purchase highly preferred. Experience may be substituted for degree on case by case basis.

  • 15+ years of experience in the contract, supply chain, purchasing, and/or procurement experience in the federal government or commercial nuclear industry required with 4+ years in the nuclear related area

  • 10+ years of contract and/or subcontracts experience leading a team

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements as they relate to Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated, effective time management skills, and excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.

  • Advanced knowledge in risk evaluation, claims mitigation, and dispute resolution.

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.

  • Must be US Citizen

  • Travel as business necessitates or required
