Description Position Summary: Purpose of a lifeguard is to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) takes over. Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe environment. Ensures safety of staff, members and guests in pool area. Maintains safe environment at all times, keeping pool deck dry, clean, and clear of obstacles. Perform water tests on pools and spas at specified times. Report any problems to supervisor or building manager immediately. Prefer working knowledge of pool filtration systems. Prefer Water Safety Instructor certification.
