Job Summary

Provide risk mitigation and analytical support to the Local Operating Areas, requiring demonstrated interpersonal skills, problem solving, analytical skills, and process improvement implementation. Work closely with key partners that support or are supported by the LOAs, vendors and external customers to ensure timely and effective communication and implementation of work. Assist with mentoring local leadership to facilitate the completion of accurate financial information associated with strategic operational activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop process improvement projects relating to financial impacts within the LOA, as requested.

  • Deliver subject matter expertise in collaboration with operations management to implement initiatives that achieve financial and strategic objectives.

  • Lead, recommend and implement solutions as needed to address Procurement to Payment (P2P) issues.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely overtime call-out of employees.

  • Analyze and ensure Capital and Job Order packets have correct account coding and all required operational documentation needed for close out and reimbursement.

  • Analyze and validate proper coding of internal timesheets, employee reimbursements, external timesheets and material tickets.

  • Member of the EOMS Data Governance Council.

  • Collaborate with Line/Scheduling departments, utilize reporting to help ensure Line Department meets as-built metrics.

  • Assist Supervisors in resolving work order packets issues to meet timeliness metrics guidelines.

  • Lead initiatives in conjunction with Supervision to resolve work order packets that are placed On-hold due to missing information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management with 7 years budgeting experience (or 10+ years in Electric Utility if not one of the listed majors)

  • Working knowledge of operations policies and procedures.

  • Experience utilizing support systems, including Microsoft 365

  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills that result in clear, concise, and positive communications.

  • Capital and O&M budgeting experience.

  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills.

  • 3+ years of experience working in electric operations

  • Experienced in data gathering & analysis.

  • Experience with PC based systems, including Word and Excel, to create memos and spreadsheets containing basic mathematical formulas.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications for Position

  • Experience utilizing support systems, including , CIS, Maximo, Workbrain and MAPPS.

  • Knowledge of NIPSCO Chart of Account and how to apply account coding.

  • Tableau or Power BI experience

Salary Range:

$77,400.00 - $116,200.00
