Job Description

As an Integration Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you will have opportunities to contribute to the data integration transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining scalable APIs, enabling integrations across systems (direct and event-based).

  • Designing and developing integration pipelines for streaming and large volume data.

  • Onboarding, consolidating, cleansing, and structuring data for efficient use in APIs, reports, analytical applications, and machine learning models.

  • Partnering with various business stakeholders, technology leads from different systems.

  • Performing data analysis and reconciliation on datasets of varying sizes and complexities.

  • Seeking ways to reduce business as usual application related costs and increase efficiencies of data operations.

  • Guiding and mentoring team made up of data engineers and associate data engineers.

  • Enforcing and advocating secure, safe, compliant use of the team’s technologies.

Tools and skills you will use in this role:

  • Java, Scala, Spring Boot, Snowflake, python, GraphQL for API development.

  • AWS Native technology stack (AWS Lambda, SQS, Glue) for integrations.

  • Docker and Kubernetes for API deployments.

  • Design of CI/CD pipeline, leading deployments, rollbacks etc.

  • SDLC process for the Integration development delivery including the deployment of code.

  • Best practices for a safe and controlled environment

  • Code reviews for safety, quality, and compliance

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience.

  • Proficiency with relevant technologies, Java/Scala, and AWS/Azure stack.

  • Demonstrable expertise in Container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)

  • Proficiency in SQL to retrieve data in an optimized manner.

  • Agile methodologies, scrum, and Kanban frameworks experience

  • Experience in designing and implementing solutions with Modern Data APIs (Rest, GraphQL).

  • Problem solving skills to identify strategies for risk mitigation to reduce or eliminate issues.

Beneficial

  • Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Familiarity with event-based integration leveraging Apache Kafka.

  • Experience with Business intelligence tools, Power BI etc.

  • Experience with ETL/Orchestration tools, Informatica and AWS Glue.
