Cisco Consulting Engineer in Mexico City, Mexico

Be a part of the Truist Network Engineering team under Cisco Customer Experience Center.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with the lead to drive optimization, technology design, implementation, execution for projects/accounts to accelerate customer business outcomes.

  • Assist customers with integration and implementation of tools, systems, and service assurance for Cisco technologies.

  • Build customer simulations in test labs to resolve/validate sophisticated problems & compatibility issues.

  • Align with and support company policies and processes and use relevant tools to efficiently implement the role and support Professional Services’ strategies and goals.

  • Play the role of an individual contributor.

  • You will be responsible for "Run the Business" activities for Cisco network devices. This will include:

  • §Modify the current network designs to add additional existing equipment to add capacity, create the mop, have it tested is the SVS, request a change window and execute the change.

  • §Modify the current network designs or configurations to modify existing equipment to add capacity, create the mop, have it tested is the SVS, request a change window and execute the change.

  • §Handle special or white glove requests for Trouble shooting a network issue through resolution including to modify existing equipment or configurations, create the mop, have it tested is the SVS, request a change window and execute the change.

Decision Making / Impact

  • Impacts own team and other teams whose work activities are closely related.

  • Basic understanding of project scope and customer business goals and objectives.

Role and specific responsibilities

  • Works with customers along with internal & external resources (e.g. Cisco account teams, partners) on the optimization / deployment of Cisco services and solutions.

  • Assists with task/project implementation for assigned customer engagements.

  • Jointly crafts and reviews project work e.g. Design recommendations, High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, Implementation/ Change Management Plans.

  • Builds and/or use test environments as required to resolve medium sophisticated problems and compatibility issues.

  • Understands how software skills and tools can be used to configure, deploy and/or seek Cisco products & solutions.

  • Acts as an initial focal point for problem resolution for customer engagements.

Who You Are

  • Typically requires BE/B.Tech/BSC Computer Science or equivalent 6+ plus years of substantial work experience. Sophisticated degree strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of at least one Customer Vertical / IT industry

  • CCNA is a must, CCNP/ CCIE certification would be a plus.

  • Network automation skills (Python/ Ansible/ GoLang/ Splunk) preferred

Expertise

Routing and Switching:

  • Should have expertise on Routing & switching Technologies like IGP, OSPF, EGP, BGP, STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, vDC, MSTP, LACP, VLAN

  • Knowledge in technologies like SDA/ SDWAN.

Wireless:

  • Good technical knowledge in Cisco/ Meraki products including wireless controller, RF Tools, Access points, WLAN.

  • Good on CMX, Hyper-location, BLE products/technologies and applications or equivalent 3rd party solutions.

Service provider

  • Good experience with Cisco Routing products such as 7600, GSR, ISR, ASR9k, CRS, Nexus 7k

  • Experience working on Internet Service provider infrastructure

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of Industry standard Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, MPLS L2 VPN, MPLS L3 VPN, QoS.

Datacenter

  • Knowledge on Data Center, Cloud and Virtualization industry, ACI, Nexus products

  • Experience with Virtualization (OpenStack / VMware vSphere / Microsoft Hyper V / Red Hat KVM / Linux Containers etc)

  • Experienced Knowledge on LAN SW Technologies like STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, vDC, MSTP, LACP, VLAN, VXLAN-EVPN.

  • Knowledge of Cisco switching Platforms like Cat 6500, 6800, 4500, 3850, Nexus 7K, Nexus 6k, Nexus 5k, Nexus 3K and Nexus9k.

  • Knowledge of Nexus Switches and UCS products, Python or other programming languages is helpful.

Leadership / Autonomy

  • Receives moderate supervision. Follows established procedures. Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
