The work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. (NOT REMOTE)
Job Description
Performs routine cytogenetic tests and molecular cytogenetics tests independently with accuracy and efficiency.
Develops new testing procedures.
Perform FISH and Chromosomes analysis.
Provides technical expertise to technologists.
Performs duties and responsibilities assigned for a cytogenetics technologist.
Performs all types of cytogenetics tests established in the lab.
Develops new cytogenetic procedures.
Monitors the performance of the equipment.
Maintains adequate levels of inventory of supplies for their working areas.
Provides expertise in technical troubleshooting.
Participates in reviewing and revising lab manual.
Assists the team leader/supervisor in preparation of the lab for safety inspections, and laboratory surveys for licensing
Alerts the team leader/general supervisor for unusual events or unexpected results.
Communicates with team leader/supervisor when having unusual test results or technical /clinical concerns.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical and/or medical sciences from an accredited college or university or an equivalent to the above degree.
Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG).
Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Florida as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Technologist in Cytogenetics.
