Overall objective
Manage all new, and existing, GAAP accounting standards, and regulatory guidance, to assess impact, identify opportunities
and ensure proper financial reporting throughout the organization.
Working with external tax auditors, ensure all federal and state tax obligations are met.
Essential Functions
Lead the analysis, communication and implementation of new GAAP and regulatory accounting standards
Assist in accounting policy and procedures changes and enhancements
Ensure compliance with tax-related regulatory requirements, including accurate tax provisions and timely tax filings
principal accountabilities
Review, analyze, and communicate the impact and opportunities of changes in GAAP and regulatory standards
Work cross-functionally to implement necessary processes to ensure compliance with all new and existing accounting standards
Serve as primary liaison for external tax auditors and for all tax-related audits and inquiries
Ensure proper tax processes and controls are in place to mitigate tax and financial reporting risks
Coordinating with external tax partners, identify tax-saving opportunities and optimize the Bank’s tax position
Support quarterly regulatory reporting and year-end financial reporting
Working with the various business lines, manage internal control documentation and testing in accordance with FDICIA and COSO 2013
Provide support across the organization to understand unusual financial transactions and to determine proper accounting treatment
Projects, as needed, to promote financial reporting efficiency and accuracy throughout the organization
Minimum knowledge/skills
Bachelors, or advanced degree, in Accounting , CPA preferred
Minimum 5 years of related experience, with preference for regulated financial services environment
Advanced technical skills and ability to analyze new transactions and processes
Project management experience and the ability to meet commitments timely
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including advanced knowledge of Excel

Adheres to applicable federal and state regulations and Bank policies and procedures, including OFAC, BSA, PATRIOT Act, Privacy, and consumer protection regulations
pertaining to incumbent’s business line.
Completes required training (on-line and in-person) by set due dates.
