About you and this role

The STEM & Skilled Trades Program Manager role is responsible for leading the Company’s efforts to build and diversify STEM and skilled trade education pipelines and connect students with innovation-based jobs, with an emphasis on underrepresented populations and youth. Dow’s global citizenship program managers are strategic program leaders that drive Dow’s philanthropic activities and corporate social responsibility work.

TheSTEM & Skilled Trades Program Manageris a member of Dow’s Global Citizenship team and is responsible for the following elements:

Responsibilities

  • Conduct strategic assessments of current partners in Dow’s citizenship and philanthropy portfolio as it relates to the goals and objectives of Dow’s new revised Global Citizenship strategy. In this role you will help identify desired future impact and outcomes vs results of today’s partner and funding mix with a specific emphasis on ID&E.

  • Lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts for the STEM and Skilled Trades pillar.

  • Work closely with HR, Operations and Office of Inclusion to use the resources of the Company Foundation and Global Citizenship to help address unmet talent pipeline needs across the enterprise. In coordination with Global Citizenship program managers and site leadership teams, help drive investment, relationship building and convening of organizations working to fill labor gaps and reduce barriers for marginalized communities to access manufacturing jobs in locations critical to Dow’s growth strategy.

  • Partner with non-profit and non-governmental organizations to drive positive outcomes in Dow communities around the globe through strategic investments and employee volunteerism.

  • Lead program management for philanthropic university support to identify areas of mutual interest and benefit. Create university engagement teams that comprise executive management sponsorship, strategic university engagement directors and leaders for each work track or area of focus between Dow and the institution.

  • Assist local sites, as needed, in ensuring giving is strategically aligned.

  • Understand and apply Dow’s ambition and priorities, business and financial acumen, in prioritization and decision-making activities.

  • Interpret and apply business rules for charitable contributions across all aspects of the role, including geographical, business and functional situations.

  • Participate in citizenship measurement activities and responsible for outcomes associated with giving and activities in this area of work.

Key attributes for success include strong communication skills, collaboration with internal and external key stakeholders, ability to establish strong relationships, working across businesses and functions, and strategy/program execution. Individual is accountable for managing financial resources and Dow’s philanthropic investments, in tandem with adhering to Dow Business Rules for Charitable Contributions.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant (PO2/Sgt) Military ranking required.

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience required.

  • Broad knowledge of corporate responsibility trends and expectations, Dow’s business strategy and objectives to build authentic and impactful corporate citizenship initiatives.

  • Prior experience in external facing roles (such as sales, marketing, business communications, site or geographic Public Affairs) preferred.

  • Ability to work with a variety of cultures, functions and businesses, along with the skills to manage multiple projects and expectations simultaneously.

  • Strategic mindset, strong initiative, ability to influence and work effectively across a diverse global team.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams and successfully managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Analytical capabilities and a proven ability to use data to determine strategic direction and tactical implementation.

  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States or Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of permanent residency (green card) process.

  • The selected candidate can be located at any Dow site in North America (United States or Canada).

  • Some travel may be required based on business need.
