Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and repair of our apartment community. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance and repair, as well as a strong understanding of safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds

• Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff

• Ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, fire prevention, and life and safety regulations

• Correct unsafe conditions in a timely manner

• Learn and ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety rules

• Immediately report any safety concerns to management

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of experience in maintenance and repair

• Ability to lift 55 pounds independently and support team lift with reasonable accommodations

• Ability to work in an indoor/outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures exceeding 90 degrees at times

• Ability to walk and stand for long periods, as well as stoop, squat, lift, carry, push, and climb

• Ability to work on ladders at varying heights

• Possible contact with blood borne pathogens and/or bodily fluids

• Strong understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA, fire prevention, and life and safety regulations

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
