Physician Assistant - GI & Hepatology Position Description: The Medical
College of Wisconsin\'s Department of Medicine, Division of
Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or
Physician Assistant to provide primary or specialty medical care within
defined scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician
and in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures. The APP
will be expected to work in a shared practice model with one or more
faculty members, as well as independently. The APP will be responsible
for new and follow-up visits, in basket management, lab result follow-up
and evaluating other acute patient issues located in Oak Creek, WI at
Drexel Town Hall Health Center. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will
contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care,
patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Ideal
Candidate will be a GI and/or Hepatology experienced APP with excellent
interpersonal and communication skills, effective time management and
professionalism, wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative
academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas of
responsibility will include, but not be limited to providing direct
patient care to an adult patient population in an outpatient setting. In
this role you will, Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care
teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring medical
intervention in an outpatient environment as a member of the
Gastroenterology and Hepatology team. Privileged to perform procedures
beyond core as identified by the Gastroenterology and Hepatology
services. Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities Perform comprehensive
histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings,
including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status. Order, perform,
and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and
appropriately communicates and documents information Write accurate and
timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer
orders Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.
Monitor effectiveness of plan of care Educate patients on disease and
treatment plans. Perform procedures as trained and appropriately
credentialed. Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and
completes other necessary documents. Collaborate and/or consults with
