Faculty Position Overview The Athletic Training Program at Marquette
University is seeking a dynamic, motivated and problem-solving Clinical
faculty member to join our rigorous and innovative Master degree in AT
(MAT ) program starting in August of 2025. We are seeking applicants for
a full time, non-tenure track clinical assistant professor position in
the a 5-year direct admit accelerated degree program / 2-year post
bachelor\'s degree program resulting in a Master of AT (MAT ) degree.
Marquette University is a major research university where teaching,
research and service are all highly valued. Our highly successful
Athletic Training Program is currently CAATE with the next comprehensive
review of the program in 2030-2031 Academic year. Housed within the
Program in Exercise Science, in the Department of Physical Therapy in
the College of Health Science we pride ourselves on the rigorous basic
science foundation and exceptional clinical skills provided to our
students and their outstanding passing rate on the BOC exam. This
position requires collaboration with faculty in the Department of
Physical Therapy, members of our Division 1 Intercollegiate Athletics
Department and our community of clinicians. Teaching is primarily in the
Master of AT curriculum during the fall, spring and summer, but can
include undergraduate teaching as needs and expertise allow. This
position is expected to create and teach new content meeting CAATE
standards, ensure continued mastery of excellent clinical skills and
contribute to the development of exceptional clinicians committed to
sustained learning and delivering compassionate care of athletic
training services. This individual is expected to teach in their area(s)
of expertise and may contribute in other areas of AT across the
professional spectrum. Courses and content may include: evaluation,
rehabilitation and management of musculoskeletal problems, traumatic
brain injuries, medical disorders, diagnostic imaging, pharmacology, and
psychology in performance and rehabilitation. Classes are delivered in a
standard semester format (fall/spring) and over a 12 week summer
session. Reports to the MAT Program Director for the Master of Athletic
Training and to the Department of Physical Therapy Chair. Clinical
faculty are expected to contribute in all areas of faculty positions
including scholarship, teaching, service to the profession and
community, participating in program and university governance including
academic advising, faculty shared governance, recruiting of students and
demonstrate a professional commitment to athletic training. Duties and
Responsibilities Teaching in the following areas: Pharmacology,
Evidence-Based practice, Therapeutic Modalities, Musculoskeletal
Assessment and Rehabilitation in area of expertise (head/neck/spine,
upper or lower extremity), Concussion Management, Psychology in the AT
setting, Medical Disorders and Illness in the AT setting and Medical
Imaging. Familiarity with the CAATE accreditation process and ability
meet CAATE requirements Ability to contribute to the ongoing development
and enhancement of the program Assisting with advising of pre-MAT and
MAT students Assisting with programmatic requirements such as
assessment, mentorship, and direct supervision of students while
providing athletic training services Assisting with the program
objectives, teaching and achieving diversification of athletic training
students. Ability to meet University, Department and Program
requirements for ongoing scholarly activity and service. *****
OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Minimum of an Advanced (post-certification) Master\'s degree
in athletic training or a Medical degree (MD). BOC certified for at
least three years and be in good standing with the BOC OR in good
standing in AMA . Clinical expertise, with a minimum of three years of
clinical experience as an Athletic Trainer, or Physician with
credentials in sports medicine/family medicine. Demonstrated collegiate
teaching experience and aptitude. Eligible to obtain and maintain AT or
MD licensure in the State of Wisconsin. Ability to meet the physical
technical standards of the profession (with or without accommodation)
including the ability to sit, bend, stoop, walk and stand for extended
periods of time, the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, the
ability to instruct and perform athletic training patient care skills,
and independence with mobility across campus. A commitment to the

setting. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Terminal degree in
Athletic Training or a related discipline MD with Specialty
Certification in sports medicine or family practice with experience in a
sport medicine setting Previous clinical experience and expertise in a
variety of athletic training or sports medicine settings with diverse
populations Familiarity with CAATE accreditation requirements.
