Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks related to medical billing operations, claims processing, and liaising with insurance companies. This role is located 100% onsite.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently processing medical credit applications
• Keeping detailed records of patient insurance coverage and benefits for correct claim submission
• Handling a backlog of denied claims, identifying the causes and finding solutions
• Submitting corrected claims and appeals to insurance providers when necessary
• Regularly communicating with insurance providers to follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• Documenting claim status, denials, and resolutions meticulously
• Collaborating with internal teams including billing, coding, and providers to rectify coding discrepancies
• Ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other healthcare billing regulations
• Reviewing and processing medical claims for accuracy and completeness
• Monitoring and managing customer accounts and taking necessary actions. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical billing role
• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrated ability to handle appeals
• Solid understanding of billing functions
• Experience in claim administration
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures
• Basic understanding of medical terminology
• Certification in Epic or similar healthcare software
