JOB REQUIREMENTS: Occupational Therapist, Neuro Recovery Clinic
Occupational therapist MU Neuro Recovery Clinic is responsible for
providing specialized outpatient occupational therapy evaluation and
treatment of patients, including the development of plan of care, and
ongoing treatment with patients through all phases of occupational
therapy. Position requires ensuring every patient receives a unique
experience through a comprehensive, thorough, and customized
occupational therapy regimen with an emphasis on quality care provided
in a friendly and encouraging environment. Position may include
mentorship of staff occupational therapists and the clinical instruction
of graduate level OT students. Position requires community outreach and
educational opportunities within the Marquette community or community at
large as needed. Participation and support of clinic research
initiatives and projects is expected. Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Provide evaluation and treatment of incoming patients to determine
appropriate occupational therapy treatment programs, including exercise
instruction, manual therapy techniques, modalities, and activities of
daily living. Discuss treatment with patients and record patient
conditions and responses to treatments. 2. Complete daily patient care
notes, progress notes, discharge notes and other required forms for all
patient interactions and case management. Review and co-sign notes of
all patients treated by auxiliary personnel under OT\'s direct
supervision. 3. Maintain current knowledge of occupational therapist
roles and continuing trends in the industry. Maintain and continue to
develop clinical skills and use of technology through continuing
education. 4. Provide mentorship and consultantship to Neuro Recovery
Clinic staff and students currently working to develop new areas of
practice and programming. 5. Communicate clearly with referring
physicians, team members, and other health care personnel regarding
occupation therapy and equipment. 6. Support research projects through
intervention, assessment, and/or coordination with stakeholders.
***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities A degree from an accredited occupational therapy
program. Appropriate state licensure or willingness to obtain. Specialty
training in the care the neurologic population preferred within the
following populations: CVA, SCI, TBI/concussion, degenerative diseases;
experience in program development. Microsoft Office capability, ability
to organize and manage multiple priorities. Strong customer service
skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent
presentation skills; strong team player. Commitment to University
