helping our healthcare partners thrive. Position Summary A postdoctoral
position is available at NIH-funded lab to study the mechanism of
pulmonary thrombosis in SICKLE CELL DISEASE. The lab is interested in
studying the role of thrombosis in promoting lung injury in Sickle Cell
Disease. The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to learn
state-of-the-art techniques such as Multi-Photon-Excitation intravital
microscopy of the lung and other organs in live mice,ex vivomicrofluidic
platform studies with human blood, proteomics and transcriptomics,
isolation/characterization of extracellular vesicles in plasma and other
molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Previous experience in
studying thrombosis, coagulation or neutrophil/platelet biology is
highly preferred. Experience in mice surgery or intravital microscopy,
microfluidic platforms and strong background in platelet biology,
coagulation and thrombosis is highly preferred. Our labs are located in
the Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) of the Blood Center of
Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. VBRI is a
pioneer institute in the field of Hemostasis, Thrombosis and bleeding
disorders. VBRI has a strong commitment towards career development of
young investigators in the field of basic and translational hematology.
Postdoc candidates will also have the opportunity to learn basic and
clinical hematology, innate immunity, thrombosis, platelet biology and
